Alisa Kozhikina (11 years) from Russia invited

11 year-old Alisa Kozhikina, originally from Russia’s Kursk region, but now living in Sosnovy Bor, 80km west of St. Petersburg, has been chosen to represent her country at the MOYA International Kids Music Festival 2015 in Mozambique.

Her talents began to show when she was just 3, and, after taking singing lessons, by the age of 6, she’d won first prize at a local contest. It was the first of many contests and festivals that Alisa has been involved with since then, in Kursk, St Petersburg, Moscow and elsewhere, and she has won first prize at many of them too. But although she had appeared as a guest on various TV shows before, Alisa’s ‘big break’ came after she told her parents that she wanted to compete in Russia’s ‘The Voice – Kids’ which she had seen advertised on TV. From the original 8000 hopefuls, Alisa eventually emerged triumphant in the Grand Final, singing her Russian language cover version of Mariah Carey’s, ‘My All’. In the show, Alisa was mentored by Max Fadeev, twice a songwriter for Russian entries at adult Eurovision.

The young singer is also the Grand Prix winner of the famous music contest ‘Rosa Vetrov,’ the winner of the international competition ‘Sozvezdie Orla,’ Grand Prix winner of the international contest ‘Сelebration of the childhood’ in St. Petersburg and the winner of the regional Kursk competition ‘Constellation of the young’ in 2012.

Alisa took part in international song contest "New wave. Kids’ in Yalta. She also took part in the Christmas Song Festival, performing with well-known girl- band ‘Serebro’ in 2013. In addition to from secondary school, Alisa is busy attending a specialised music school where she is taking piano and vocal classes.
It was while she was on ‘The Voice’ tour that Alisa was told that she’d been chosen to represent her country at Junior Eurovision in Malta last year - she says was so happy and that she could hardly believe the news at first and wondered if it was just a dream.

We would like to thank the Russian Embassy in Maputo for all support to make Alisa's performance in Mozambique possible.
